don't you like random updates?

when you're busy doing your own routines and a message pops up

it's not a reply, it's not a request

not a "please cheer me up" talk, not a work talk

BUT just a casual update by a friend

when you're stressed out from your routines

and a message pops up "hey my sis just gave birth!"

or when you're driving in a mad traffic

and a message says "was thinking about you when i saw this clothing"

or when you finally have some personal time to relax

and someone privately sends you a photo of his proud cooking

especially when someone is in a positive state of mind

ESPECIALLY

because they have no specific reason to find you

to confide in your advices, or ask for help

they could just pretend you don't exist until they need you

yet they didn't

they took the extra effort to share something happy with you

knowing that that effort will kick off a chain of future messages/talks

yet they don't mind that

and still willing to update you whenever, wherever

you are in their mind when something happy is going on

you are being thought of when they want to share

it's a genuine, sincere exchange of positive life experiences

with someone they believe would be worthy of their sharing

someone who they know would be happy for them

i hope what i think and just said is true

for i am genuinely grateful for people around me that still acknowledges me

for people around me that thinks i'm worthy enough to know both sad/happy things in their life

i spent years treating others the best i could

i'm glad others see me the same

and think that i should not miss out on their life

don't you like random updates?

whether good or bad

but nothing less, nothing more than a casual update

because i do

xx.
